João Quinelato holds a Master's and PhD in private law, at Rio de Janeiro State University, is a professor of private law at IBMEC-RJ, and a professor at Post-Graduation in Private Property Law at PUC-Rio, at Post-Graduation courses in Public Law at UERJ and a Post-Graduation in Public Law. He has a specialization in legal English from FGV-Rio and is certified by Harvard Law School in the area of Intellectual Property (Copyright-X). He presented papers at American University, Washington College of Law and at the Faculty of Law of the Faculty of Coimbra. He is the author of the book “Civil Liability in the Network: Damages and Freedoms in the light of the Marco Civil da Internet”, published in 2019. He is the author of academic articles and book chapters in the area of private Law, dedicating himself to research and teaching in the field of private law. He is General Secretary of the Civil Law Commission of OAB-RJ, member of the Civil Law Commission of the Federal Council of OAB, financial director of the Brazilian Institute of Civil Law - IBDCivil and associated with the Association Henri Capitant des Amis de la Culture Juridique Française.
